The job search interface was key to the APS jobs website. However, the entire website, as well as the search interface, was getting tired. A quick design was requested to present to stakeholders as a possible future state.
I met with stakeholders to understand who used the product, and why. Two simple personas and scenarios each were developed during the meeting.
I recorded the features of the interface and how it worked, then iterated a number of designs. I user tested the designs with internal staff and integrated feedback.
The final design allowed the user to toggle between a basic search and an advanced search. The design incorporated advanced functionality to create flexible search parameters that the user can easily adjust on the fly.
